As well as being a leading provider of Highway Maintenance and Civil Engineering Construction throughout the South West, SWH is a large commercial property maintenance provider in the region as it emerges in the South West construction arena. Associated activities include sign design and manufacture, vehicle maintenance, traffic management and training. Application of our core commitments, such as ensuring a highly trained workforce has led to successful and expanding businesses in these markets.

Established in 1995 by joint venture partners Colas Ltd and Ringway, now called Eurovia Group Limited, South West Highways Ltd won the Devon County Council Term Maintenance Contracts for both Highway Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance. Uniquely these have been renewed twice and held ever since; a record breaking duration for such contracts.

We are also Connect Road's A30/A35 DBFO Contractor in joint venture with Balfour Beatty, a contract we've held constantly since 1996.

Building a Local Business is SWH's real success story, transforming into a diverse business, regionally active and locally committed to sustainable construction. The expansion has brought new skills and innovation and seen employment expand - we have a well-trained workforce of over 600 people. We operate our own training centre, SWH Training, which specialises in Civil Engineering and Construction courses. The business has remained constantly profitable.
