Roads

Across the south west, every day SWH is improving the region's infrastructure, working on signalised junctions through to major road construction. Marine

SWH Civils' operating area is surrounded by the sea. Inevitably we've developed a wide expertise and strong reputation in working in marine environments. Our engineers have repaired sea walls and flood defense systems, strengthened bridges across estuaries and refurbished busy promenades in tourist areas. Working in tidal zones is routine for us. Structures

From retaining walls in the countryside, churchyards and sensitive conservation environments to structures across the M5, SWH Civils' Structures team has played a major role in creating and maintaining a number of the region's most famous landmarks.

Cycle Paths

The south west region is home to some of the most well-known parks and beauty spots. Significant investment has been made to give walkers and cyclists the chance to enjoy these and SWH Civils has been responsible for creating a host of cycle paths. Our staff regularly work in sensitive environmental and ecological environments as well as in coastal and live rail environments. Devon's topography means that many bridges are constructed as part of these projects.

One of the unusual consequences of this work is that we receive calls from people who want to know more about the developing cycle network – people are very keen on having these routes available for leisure and travelling to work.
