SWH completes successful project for Somerset County Council
SWH has successfully completed a £3.45million project for Somerset County Council.
Minehead Railway Station was opened in 1874, linking the town to Taunton and beyond.
SWH revamped the area by building three blocks of commercial starter units and a fresh home for the local market. The railway also got a new information centre and coffee shop alongside a steam engine turntable that's handpowered - the first of its kind installed in the country for several years.
The project earned a prestigious BREEAM rating of Very Good and Somerset County Council scored SWH Build 100% for 'Dealing with third parties', 'Accessibility of staff' and 'Sensitivity to the local environment'.
