In 1996 SWH formed a partnership with Balfour Beatty to form SWH-BBjv. In 2001 this became SWH-RCSjv when RCS, a subsidiary of Balfour, undertook the term maintenance requirements along the A30/35 from Exeter to Bere Regis in Dorset, working for Connect Road Operators. In 2007 this partnering arrangement became known as BBIS/SWHjv as we have again won this contract for a further 5 years, extendable to 10 years.
Working with the Highways Agency, the partnership identifies and delivers improvements along the route, taking into account the Environment, Innovative ideas, Future Maintenance requirements and the needs of our stakeholders.

We routinely collect data on behalf of our client, and the Highways Agency to assist in the planning and development of larger scale road and bridge maintenance works. Schemes such as Turks Head Amenity Improvement, Kings Road, Honiton and the route enhancements at Deep Cut, and Max Gate, Dorchester are just some of the projects recently completed to enhance the journey for our stakeholders, who of course are all the travelling members of the public.
