The new National Transportation Qualifications have been developed by industry practitioners, building on the experience of the first generation of N/SVQs in the sector.
The new awards have been accredited by QCA just like any other NVQs, and will go onto the national database (so that they are eligible for public finding). The new National Transportation Qualifications recognise that practitioners within the sector cover a wide range of disciplines. These practitioners need ready access to appropriate qualifications. They also need awards that will enable them to progress within and transfer between disciplines to support their career development. TVG recognises the importance of a sustainable, integrated approach to transportation practice, and the new awards seek to reflect this. The new National Transportation Qualifications will be available at levels 3, 4 and 5 in the NVQ framework. At each level, there is a "core" of units which all candidates will take. In addition, candidates will take a number of "optional" units, depending on their particular discipline.
